Didn't Balckadder go though about three time zones?
Is he also being used to teach history about those times also?

If he is, god help us, it was comedy and has no bearing on reality.
Kids get enough fantasy from computer games these days, without the schools teaching comedy programmes in order to tell them about history.

I'd be the first to agree most politicians are rubbish, but I just cant see where this has gone wrong, its not the bloke in question who is taking BA seriously its the teachers that use it.

I know about logarithms. I know how to calculate them too. Most programming languages have built in functions for it:)

        Well there you go then.
Dont ask me to use them now, but 40yrs ago I was pretty good.
You could work out all manner of long winded maths using a log book once you had mastered them.
I was never that great, I left school before the real tricky stuff started.

It is a good thing, but the depth in which it covers the core subjects is sadly lacking. Despite what teachers say my sisters old school books prove that maths (for example) only goes up to what we covered by mid/late fourth year.

Of our last four apprentices we've had to let three go. Despite very good grades, glowing school reports etc, they were frankly thick. I'm not being insulting to them personally, as the harsh fact is that they were let down by the education system.
The fourth one has been a joy. When he turned up on his bike three years ago asking about the chance of an apprenticeship when he left school he explained that he doubted he would get any GCSE passes as he tended to bunk off a lot. Kinda interested by his frankness we asked him to write down his name, address and phone number and it was readable. When we saw his address it became clear that he had cycled ten miles to reach us! We made the decision to give him a shot as he was untainted by the education system and it has proven to be a winning move. He is easy to teach, possibly aided by the fact that his attitude is that he knows nothing, and if he doesn't understand something as you explain it he asks.

            Praise the lord!

And to think that the affluent and educated people of Henley elected this nutter as a councillor!
