Oh, go on, Jazid - anticipation is always worse!

There's a book, Nightwing, I think - that definitely gave me the horrors on the subject.

Agree with HB, Waco - your MP seems the best bet.

I suspect MPs by preference drink fresh human blood so it probably doesn't matter if I add that vampires like a tipple as well. heh heh heh [IMG] I have been to their home in the Darien but thankfully my jungle hammock saved the day. Apparently they like to suck blood from our heads or toes, these bits bleed better, slurp [IMG]

If I remember rightly, it was the cows' legs that bled best..... - yes, pretty horrible! So I guess you have to wear a hat and socks when you go to sleep there?

My common sense approach is not that I have anything against the bat, and not that I don't understand animals - I have lived for many years with horses, dogs and rare breed poultry.

Of cours I want the bats to survive, I am just astonished with all our abilities to creat conditions for such rare breeds that we are unable to deal with the situation, and have the foresight to see that we are in a no win situation.

This lovely old church with dwindling congrigation will fall into dis use and disrepair, I am sure it will make a lovely home for the bats but will eventually become a deserted ruin like the many other relics dotted round our countryside.

surely there is a way of managing both bat and building, and as far as building firms and liquidation is concerned this would not happen, the Church does not have enough funds to pay for one in the first place, just a load of nice old people that give their time volountarily as part of their worship.

I remember way back in the fifties, there was a newspaper story about a vicar who took his motor bike into his bat infested church. He noisily revved it until the bats moved out! Now, I wonder if he would be prosecuted for doing the same today.
