Hi, Sinbad. All salesman are just after your money. So, listen to there offer and tell them how great it is, sound really keen, ask lots of buying questions and keep them on the phone for as long as possible. Then when it finally comes to the crunch making a payment or confirming an order just start laughing at them and say you have changed your mind. Ask them to call back tomorrow. They more than likely won't but if they do repeat the process.
It's very disheartening for someone in a high pressure sales role to be strung along by a time waster. and if there boss finds out this is happening every time someone calls you he will remove your number himself (it can be done)

It can be done, but don't hold your breath.
It should be within the remit of service providers to support their customers in removing this blight on their lives - but do they?

Nobody cares. You (the mug) will keep the service whatever. You may change providers, but it's swings and roundabouts to them, People go and others arrive.
The Pests that ring are paid to pass on the message. The overseas sites have no legislative control and are not paid by results.
The message is:- We'll be back - over and over and over and over etc.
    There is no escape!:cry3::cry3:

Hmmmm in that case there is only one thing a man can do. Cover yourself in petrol and set yourself on fire next time they call. :D

I had a company that did conservatories call me up just as I was sitting down to my dinner one night. I acted shocked and told them that I had just been looking into getting one built and arranged for them to come out and give me an estimate...what I didn't tell them was that I lived 3 floors up at the time. The guy that came out wasn't too happy that he'd wasted 3 hours of his time but I thought it was funny.

          Simbad-

Google "ANGRY BT customer! Very Funny!"

I wont put up a link to it, as its not safe to play at work.

          But it CRACKS me up.

Next time they call- 'channel' the man in the video!

If apoplexy isnt your thing, then this page should help- even if you arent with BT.

Also- have you filled out any forms or surveys recently, online or over phone?
Even 'nice' companies sell on your details to other companies.

Very funny Melinda :loll::loll:, I don't think he's interested, certainly did the trick:D.
Never fill in any surveys that I can think of unless its when I've bought things online:scratch:, could be I suppose.
The good news is I actually didn't get a phone call yesterday after telling her she was getting on my nerves:dbgrtmb:, sure it won't last.

I always fill in surveys. That's probably why I keep getting offers suitable for a blind, one-legged, 60 a day, home loving, necrophiliac alcoholic who loves travelling the world to collect art and enjoys giving it to charities :loll:. Well! I'm sure that's what they seem to read into their analysis. :heehee:

If your survey was the one with 300 questions, I did it the other day. :dbgrtmb:

I'm always lonely, so a sales call is always welcome, especially if the voice on the other ends sounds like a good looking blonde when I'm stuck in someone's garden pulling weeds

they normally hang up before I do

              :(

I had a call from a "company" called Lifestyles this afternoon, she couldn`t even pronounce my surname.:loll::loll::loll:. Said, we`ve been asked by your bank and credit card provider to give you a call. I said, what does my credit card have to do with you? And she rung off.lol

My father-in-law, 84 and still going strong, enjoys winding up cold callers.
A particular favourite of mine was the call he received from someone trying to sell him a stair lift.
Having nothing better to do at the time, the old boy eagerly asked for more information, stringing them along for some twenty minutes by requesting details of price, cost of fitting, different models etc.
Just as sales person was about to arrange a 'visit', FIL said "Oh, I do have one more question."
              Pest: "Yes, what's that sir?"
FIL: "Well, do these stair lifts go up to heaven?"
Pest: (After a lengthy pause) "I'm sorry sir?"
FIL: "Well, you see, I live in a bungalow, so it wouldn't be much use otherwise would it?" [IMG]

I take a slightly different approach .... I first ask her name .... ask her where she lives ... what's her weather like .... what's her favourite food ... how many children does she have .... what's she wearing ... what's her favourite colour

when I ask her what shoe size she is .... she normally mumbles something about me being 'wierd' and hangs up?

she never phones again and I think she deletes me from her database ...

then I continue to pull weeds or mow a lawn
