Eddie, your work is wonderful. The porch looks untreated? Does it just weather to a natural silver? We once lived in a house with a green oak frame, I just loved the way it gradually mellowed as time went on.

        Thanks for the kind words.

The porch was left untreated, so it should weather down nicely.

I made this frame a few weeks ago, and started to put it up this week. :)

I hadn't realised that I had left my next updates for so long. I guess life has just got in the way.

Anyway, the above frame is finished, as is the next one.

I've also had my usual helpers around, my daughter and the neighbours daughter. The neighbours 11yr old daughter wanted to make something, so who was I to say no. The only thing that I did was offer guidance and assemble it.:)

I'm also making myself an advertising board with a difference. The board shown was just a trial for my own reference.

Finally...For the last two years on an almost daily basis, I've been driving past this piece of oak which has just been laying against a bank down a country lane. Occasionally it would get knocked by a passing vehicle, but has just sat there causing a nuisance. Last week I decided to put it to better use and after much struggling, carted it away.

It's now destined to become another piece of sculpture.

Hi Eddie, great pictures again. Have you got something in mind yet for that piece of oak? I love your work and look forward to seeing the progress on this one. :dbgrtmb:

            Thanks.:)

The piece of oak is turning into quite an interesting one really. I haven't started to carve it yet and have simply only started to clean it up, and yet shape is already beginning to form.

From one angle you have Anubis, from another a jurassic creature, then from another a sea horse. It would also make a lovely sculptured seat.

I'm just going to carry on with the cleaning, and see how things develop.:)

              Hi Eddie,

It's good to see kids interested in things like that :dbgrtmb:

Excellent buildings . Are the large uprights free standing or are they anchored in some way?

The neighbours daughter is now more enthusiastic than my own. It is amazing what difference a year in age makes. Odd though, as I'm teh biggest kid of the lot!!:D

Ref the posts.. There is a 16mm stainless steel rod that goes down into the concrete base below and up inside base of the post. I always oversize the hole into the wood, just in case things aren't square.

My better half is part of a group trying to raise money to buy books for a local school. They are having an auction at the beginning of Jan, and I have been "told" to start making things to auction off.

To start the ball rolling, I made this simple bird table this morning.

Nice design Eddie, but may I just say, it's a bit close to the ground which is cat territory. It would have to be placed in an open area, so the birds can spot the cats coming. :)

Thanks Sheal, I was just having a play really, and nothing has been fixed together. I'll try swapping things around and see what I come with.:)

The next logstack project is also coming along nicely.

I'ts approx 2,000mm wide and currently stands approx 1,700mm tall. By the time it's finised it should be approx 2,000mm tall.

I was going to call it the bee hive, but I've decide upon the Honey pot.
I also fancy trying to make a few large bees from wire to place on the side.:)
