Woody is just a pressie for the mum-in-law. He is an indoor Xmas decoration.:)

I've been having another play today.:)

I got a bit too cold so haven't quite got it finished, but the basic shape is there. Again made from oak, this piece stands approx 3' high.

Time for a little bit of an update.

I have just spent another chilled out day making this for the garden.

I've found a home in the garden for the curved rustic bench.

        Hi Eddie,

I thought you might like this, it's a modern day representation of the 'First Nations people of Canada'. :)

        Brilliant, thanks Sheal.:)

I'll have to get you to email me some more/closer photos of it if you have them.

As I'm here, I had better give a quick update.

After making the above, I decided that it would look even better if I were to make two more, one taller and one smaller, and have them set out in a group of three, as you might with a planting scheme.
I couldn't go out on site today, so I made a start on the taller one which is 6' high. It has taken me all day just to make two of the four sections, and I've already opted for possibly another idea/theme for them. As I have said before, these things just seem to evolve.

        Wood as sourced.

Chainsaw cuts to loose some weight before cutting to shape on the bandsaw.

The start of my least favorite job, sanding.

I also seem to developing an interest in shapes such as this.

The above isn't mine, but I do have an idea for a similar design project.

Your idea of making the other two is a good idea. I don't know why, but I think that particular design looks a little 'lost' by itself, as if it's missing something, so it'll be good to see the three together. :)

When I was scrolling the last picture, I thought at first it was and idea around the Manx legs. :heehee: It's interesting, but I'm not sure whether I like it, sorry.

The picture I posted for you is the only one, my husband found it through one of his contacts on Facebook. But I've just had a look through some personal pics my daughter sent me from Canada and I've come up with these two.
