I realised just after I'd shut my computer down for the night:)

I could say it was one of my famous trick questions where I'm testing to see who spots my mistake, but really it was more a case of 'I'm tired, my brain isn't on, but I know its not the most obvious 80% answer :)

My point was though, its just a big con. I bet loads of people turn up at the shops expecting to save a whopping 80% when its actually less than that.

And stuff like '25% extra free' sounds better than 'save 20%'. Another favourite 'VAT free!' is not save 20%, but a less than 17% saving.

This is an awkward one. On the face of it, these questions are supposed to be answered very quickly and just at a glance - with a quick mental calculation. Approximation is very simple on most of them. It took me about 2 minutes to whip through them and get them all correct - according to them.

Question 7 is an interesting one. It's obvious that they are doing a simple mathematical calculation and not a dynamic/engineering one. I think it's debateable (tranlates as - not putting sufficient thought into it to work out exactly :)) but it would depend on the exact start position and whether the last two can get out in the space provided. So, with a brief study, I think you're correct. :blue thumb:

As a, very, non-tech person I must admit that I wouldn't have put sufficient thought into it and I'm still trying to get my head around the question without having to use pen and paper.

I'll give some more thought to it whilst gardening and shopping today.

The first thing I did was look at the position of the compartmental dividers relative to the entrance and exit and as it states "there is room for a maximum of two people in each sector" that gives an indication of scale and it's obvious that if it revolves in a clockwise direction, after the final 120 degrees of revolution there will be an inadequate width gap (arrowed) for numbers 719 and 720 to get out of compartment B into the building. It would have to start from a different position (shown orange) to that shown in the question diagram to get 720 through the doors. A badly drafted and ill thought out question in my opinion.

I got 40% right which isn't bad for someone who is blonde and hasn't got a clue of what half the questions were asking:snork: The only university I have ever been to is the university of life which has held me in good stead all these years:snork::cool:
