Currently under extreme stress, Holiday starts 05:00 Moday

Three year old grandkidling went down with steptycolis throat infection Monday on anti biotics and a bit better, Then today her five year old sister has now gone down with the same thing
Phone call this morning Old Aunt emergency admission to hospital 80 and she looks bad very bad chest infection and virus, we are her only kin (power of attorney)

Julie is a volunteer with the local credit union, so she was out, I decided not to tell her until she got home at 15:00, Then our plans had all to be changed, instead of packing and buying last minute stuff, it was, go to aunty's house collect stuff and actually lock it up, not ambulances fault really they took her away at 05:00 but left the house open

I dashed and bought a PAYG phone and sim, as when I got a call from her it was cut off after a minute so did not know if it was cash or charge
Visited the hospital and to be honest it does not appear good,

Selfish I do not think Julie and I can go, so send the rest of the family, I have paid £8k for this retirement holiday :-( two grandkidling ill and Aunty serious

Hosp say just rest and whatever, but she looks worse than that, and two years ago this week, her sister my MIL went, we left her at 20:00 sitting in bed reading after a visit and an hour later it was zilch, do you want us to switch the machine off :-(
Whilst her two sons refuse to answer their phones after working hours
So sat all night holding the hand of a dead body whose chest was going up and down
until eldest son decided to return the call, then the youngest son, decided to answer, with abuse, we have never spoken since, only wish it was both of them
Two graduates and no CDF Tight bar stewards eat all drink all pay nowt

Rant away Jack. I can only sympathise.
I'm sure that one day things will start to look brighter, and you can go away for some "You" time with your good lady at another time. Being a Gentleman of Leisure now flexibility is a great tool.
I'm thinking positive thoughts for you at this time. Stick in there.

well said that submariner!!! I also have that feeling when I am days away of a journey to Italy...I nearly feel like not eting to save room for the food there.

what would your Aunt want? You to miss this family event because of her? I'm sure her outcome is in the capable hands of the medical team and they will keep her warm and comfortable. Apart from them, the good Lord has his list..... We are all on it someday.

It is just the stress factor, the problem with the Aunt is I have seen the face and condition before, I do not think she will make it beyond tonight :-( no matter what the doc says

all well with jack/ they had a safe journey and ride from the airport and they are looking forward for a glass of white wine and the evening meal. Weather is very nice! the little ones are getting better. I have a feeling that there will finda very goodmoodin the restaurants there tonight!
