Oh onions.

    May just be that the cold winter stressed them then, and they have run to flower early as a result.

    Over-winter onions don't keep for long so I reckon you need to use them up, starting with the the ones that have flowered as they will keep less well.

    Dry weather is supposed to cause bolting in onions also.

    Good mix of both types were flowering so it must have been the conditions that set them off even though I thought I'd kept them pretty moist! We did have a massive downour after several weeks of no rain so I think it was that that sparked it off.

    Have to say they're very tasty though:)
