Olive Tree

    Brine is the usual way, I believe. Sodium Hydroxide would be used on oils (including olive oil) to make soaps.

    The olive tree gives fruits every two years

    They fruit yearly here, mira, but could be the climate.

    Hi people, wonder if you could help. I bought one of those little trees with bottle olive oil on,he has been planted in a pot for 18mths now,in the garden,But the leeves are still so small,and it has only grown a fraction,well rooted though,what am i doing wrong.

    could it just be that the olive tree grow slowly...? I will see to find more information...

    Hi now the olive leaves in picture of Lady of Leisures, are nothing like mine,will take pic tomoorow.mine are tiny compared to hers

    My brothers 12 olive trees in Crete fruit yearly, having said that this years harvest will be poor and not enough to send for pressing. Even there a good summer is not guaranteed.

    There seems to have been an excellent harvest here this year, even without our expected rain. The green olives are just so big and fat, just right for stuffing.

    The harvesting is ongoing with the plastic sheets laid out under the trees and folk shaking and poking at the trees with sticks for the fruit to drop. A beautiful sight, so old world. [​IMG] Sorry, never have the camera handy but will try to get a pic before it all ends this year. [​IMG]
