    Very funny Shiney, :loll:

Save your cash and spend it on plants! The tv was ousted because we couldn't justify the price of the licence against the rubbish we were watching.

After getting over the withdrawal symptoms it's the best thing we ever did............my family actually talk to each other now! :thumb: :)

I think its nice to be a bit different, and its British to be a bit defiant. It would be as funny as anything if it was a total flop.

Look at the millenium tent, oh sorry, dome. Remember how much material that created for comedians. Well worth the expense.

The olympics only last a few weeks, but if it goes horribly wrong, it will keep comedians going for many months, if not a few years. That will contribute to the economy, because people pay to see the comedians.

I can see it now, 'new ancient mayan scroll found, the world ends in 2012' [newly discovered bit] 'for British sport'. Or 'A meeting of the British Ninja Morrison Dancing Potters Society was an unexpected success today after a turnout that that exceeds that of the 2012 olympics - 2 people attended'.

Ok, I'm not a comedian, but I'm sure you catch my drift.

You're probably right, I get a free licence but it's hardly worth the price. The main thing is the news, and weather forecasts which are very good on Look East.

 I think it's going to be in horseguards parade, the bit where they do the Trooping of the Colours. Somehow it won't be the same, it's bound to be downpours and freezing cold.

Good for you, I wish we could get rid of ours. We just have a tiny portable since our big telly packed in a year ago. We have cable here and hundreds of channels, all of them complete rubbish. I watch the News and Weather (same as Larkshall) - which I can easily get on the internet, the rest I wouldn't miss it for a moment.

I thought the millenium tent was great when we visited. Probably because it had been built up to be such a white elephant so we had low expectations. Our family really enjoyed the day there. It is a very British thing to knock ourselves, but when you actually look at what we have acheived we should be proud.
