I made the same mistake too. I thought it was a new "you day apart from gardening" thread! My bad

On a lovely day like today what could be nicer than an amble back through time. Today's outing......

A really super interesting and beautiful walk...I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone visting or even having a mid journey stop off here.

I will post a few of my ( many taken!!) pics on Your Day ( apart from gardening ) thread later today.

Thanks Michael, I fear my write ups don't really do full justice to Winchester....it's one of those places that has to be visited to really appreciate it's historical beauty. :)

On a day like today it was perfect weather for exploring a nearby neighbour.

The residents are very friendly but do tend to think they own the place sometimes.:heehee:

Our first stop was to visit these stunning ruins that are brimming with history.....and to have our picnic in the surrounding grounds.;)

After pulling ourselves away from atmospheric ruins we visited one of the ponds that the River Hamble flows through. South Pond.

Finally we had a wander around the pretty flower filled little town.
