    The end of March will be just fine Robert - don't forget to fully harden off your conservatory forced sets - the shock of moving them straight outside will set them back so that any early advantage will be lost.

    Hi Capney,I started my Garlic off in paper pots, they did well till I had a place for them ,planted out now ofcourse,shoots siw inches high. Joyce

    Thanks Joyce for the newspaper pots I was aware of them but didn't get around to giving them ago will try this year. :gnthb:

    Not too keen on the loo rolls though tried these before and was rewarded with strange fungus growing from the sides of them.Hel.xxx.

    I've never tried growing onions, but I had great success with starting my green beans off in toilet rolls last year, so shall do the same again this year.

    Then too, as David said, it makes planting them out so much easier.

    That's what I was thinking but it's only one, I could always put him in a big pot and see how he does as an inside onion :lollol: I sound a bit mad there, I'm not mad, Honest
