Well, tell your Mum she's a Lady of Great Taste as well. Your cutting will soon get way and flourish, loli.

Mine's a sight that makes me smile at the moment!!

"Maquerade" is a tough old rose, loli:love30: I bought mine "dry root" in a cellophane packet for 50p back in 1980 from a Superstore called "Finefare" and it just seems to go from strength to strength whatever the world seems to throw at it. It does suffer from Blackspot somewhat but those flowers that change colour and give you the illusion of several roses being together make me forget that!!.......besides lots of other roses have the same problem.:dunno::coffee:

            Hi Lolimac,

How did you grow yours from a cutting ?

It's something I've always wanted to try but I wouldn't know where to start.

            Hiya Anthony...

I take Rose cuttings the back end of September .A stem around pencil thickness and aprox 8" long.I put 4" of gravel in the bottom of a deep plant pot and stick the cutting in then gently fill in around it with soil,it's then put in a sheltered spot and watered only when dry which isn't often at that time of the year.I'd prefer to put them in the ground the same way, gravel at the bottom etc... but my chooks would make short work of them.I'm sure there is a proper way to do it but I find this method works for me
