I'd give up if I were you Anthony, the obstacles are getting in the way. :heehee: Ferry yes, limousine no. It would be easier for you to visit here but it's colder here than where you are! Shall we forget the garden hose? "M"'s rolling pin would be less challenging.

Sorry Apple Blossom, I'm teetotal and don't like caviar. A person of simple needs.

I am not going to grow them, but I'll eat lots of doughnut peaches just to show solidarity :heehee:

              Hi Apple Blossom,
The easiest way to do Avocado is to prop the stone on a narrow necked bud case ( or similar ), so that the bottom is just touching the water but not in it. When it's main root is about 2" long and there are a couple if leaves on the main shoot pot it up but leave the seed exposed.
Have a look on " other plants ", on my houseplant post, there's a pic of mine there.

Thanks Anthony, I will have to have a go.... not sure if I have any narrow necked bud case, maybe an egg cup but then the roots will have no where to go :heehee:

That all sounds so easy, I will have a peek at yours in a min.

Does it matter if I have kept the stone for a couple of days.....? Or do I need to eat another avocado for tea?:dancy:

It won't make any difference if it's a couple of days old, it shouldn't have dried out inside yet. But you can still have another one
LOL ( Personally, I can't stand them, eww eww eww . I through the flesh away ! )

Have you got something like an empty 50 cl water/pop bottle. You should be able to sit a stone ontop of I of those ok.

                  That's a name I haven't heard for a long while!

Would one of the vases that Hyacinths are grown in work. If the neck is to big it could be lined with something. :)

                      How about these then Sheal......

Chris Tarrant and Simon Le Bon, both lived here when they were young and went to school here.

Sven Goran Eriksen lived here before his infamous England/Ulrika episode.

Stanley Baldwin former PM was born and lived here.

The Duke of Windsor ( King Edward VIII ) used to spend his summers on an estate here ( as the Queen does now at Sandringham).

Prince Arthur, brother of King Henry VIII lived here. He's the one who died aged just 18, and therefore his brother Henry became King. Just think if he hadn't died so young we would probably all still be Roman Catholics.

Dick Whittington's father ( Lord Mayor of London and panto fame ) lived in a beautiful half timbered manor house just outside of town which is now a restaurant.

Sorry for going off on a tangent.
