    We got the impression that they put their roots down into the natural folds of the trees branches where the water collects, suppose at time that could be quiet deep or just moist as you are doing.

    As said above , just got a couple more jars so will try them with just the minimum water like you and see which do best .:smile:

      As far as I'm concerned its all experimentation @ricky101.:smile:
      I see what you mean about the roots going into forks in the branches but I've heard stories of orchids of many types just being nailed to a branch and left to get on with it, in proper tropical conditions, not sure if its true.

      Most epiphytes tend to root into debris that forms in the forks of branches and the crevices in the bark.
      Have you ever seen how these roots actually stick to walls if they get the chance, had a few roots attach themselves to the paintwork in the conservatory:biggrin: and you ruin the root if you try to remove them.
