The article posted by Liz, written by Peter Symons is interesting to say the least. If "we" did decide to treat slugs as a culinary delight then there would be less damage to our crops (and to hedgehogs etc) and our diets would most probably be all the better for it, providing of course we ate the blighters that like our crops apparently as much as we do, rather than the other, more gardener friendly varieties.
Now, where is the frying pan...

    Kind regards
    Roy
P.S. like the frog too Walnut!

Maybe we'd all end up with lungworm, or metaldehyde poisonong?

Jazid, thing is if we deep fry then maybe lungworm and metaldehyde would, erm, deep fry too i.e. be as alive as the slug and may well add to the loverly flavours...?

Cheers Windy Miller, I'll bear your offer in mind!

    Top stuff :D :D

Wow what a lot of pages to read some very interesting, and some not so tasty Yuk! I have somehow lost the link here but, (me thinks regarding couch grass), I read only the other day that you can confuse it, (couch grass) by setting tomatoe seeds where it is growing there must be some thing that it dosnt like as alledgedly the toms win, and I for one would prefer that to the other, you could then pull up the toms and re plant if yoy wished. good luck ;)
