You might as well leave the osteospermums in now, after all, you will be enjoying them until the end of October.

[IMG]This is the hardy one, suitable, but only flowers like this for about a month in May. I think you might bet a pillow effect from carpets of annuals if you chose carefully so you could add more groups of plants and then replant the whole thing in October.
Just a thought, if you saw something that had the right pillow effect in someone else's garden you could ask them what it was, and take notes.

I have seen many Osteospernums survive the last winter and were thriving as early as March this year, coming in to flower!! Granted round here we only had 4 or 5 frosts down to -3.

Normally they would be lost as has been said but at least this proves they will take light frosts and survive :)

Might be worth lifting them in autmun and keeping in the garage or greenhouse.

It has been an unusual winter. Mostly you wouldn't expect them to survive, you'd have more chance on the SW sea coasts.

Good afternoon this is my Cape daisy in its third year ,I usually put a plastic bag over it when the need arises, depends on the severity of our winter I have had one that lasted almost 5 years
and I make sure it is in a sheltered spot surround by other plants;)
