Reading all this has made me feel so good
I'm pretty nervous about going to the dentist and always think the dentist must find me a very strange person. But now I know I'm really a model patient :D

 

Oh my.......i remember reading that you had broken your neck, me too, sorry about your last drop.:(

 

Sorry Chopper, my post about the dentist was not about your drop problem or your broken neck. I think those posts got crossed somewhere.
You really have been in the wars and I hope things are much better for you now.

Thankyou, but the drop where I broke my neck was NOT the last one I did. Against doctors orders and warnings, I just had to prove to myself that I could still do it. The last time I went skydiving I did three drops in one day. Next day my left knee, the one that has all the metal in it was about three times the size it normally is and was extremely painfull. I could barely walk for about three weeks. Had to have some more surgery to put it right again.

My neck was ok for a couple of days after the drops, but then things went from bad to awful. I ended up back in hospital in traction for 2 hours at a time, then two hours laying flat on my back in a collar. I was drip fed morphine to help with the pain. Remembering how much that stupidity hurt is enough to stop me doing it again. I miss the adrenalin, but I could have been paralyzed for life. Not allowed to do any bungee jumping, hang gliding, horse riding, or drag racing either.

The ACU and RAC refused me a race licence for drag racing. My GP refused to sign off my licence for martial arts and I was not allowed to go to the boxing club anymore except as a spectator. I cannot get life or accident insurance. When it comes to the question "Have you ever been involved in an accident, or have you ever had any major surgery", it is a bit of a stumbling block.

I completed one insurance application just to see what they would reply. The form came back with "NOT IN THIS LIFETIME!!" written in big red letters across it. The bloke from the insurance company phoned me and asked if Iwas serious. :lollol::lollol::lollol:

No problem at all. Yes I have had a few close calls, but I am a lot better off than a lot of people and being the awkward so and so that I am, I keep the doctors busy.

You have certainly lived life to the full, Chopper, I enjoyed reading about your various stunts, even though you came a cropper. Nobody could ever accuse you of being a wimp, that's for certain sure!!! :D
