....the operative word being 'used to be' :heehee:

Quite how someone that has gone through so much training to achieve a black belt would 'forget' I don't know :what:.............unless shock of horrors he was telling 'porkies' :D :loll:

He used to be a black belt? In what? I used to be into martial arts, and I know that once you get the honour of the entitlement to wear a black belt (1st Dan), you don't as far as I know ever lose that honour.

Or does he mean that like me, he has a black leather belt to hold his jeans up?

I thought people in martial arts were taught that it was for self defence not attack. So his threatening behaviour goes against everything he's been taught.

I think Ziggys right, he's a cyclepath! :heehee:

Reminds me of sitting in the waiting room of the Psychotherapists office.

I was sat staring at the sign on his door still it suddenly dawned on me what it was really saying......

                  Psycho the rapist.

                  I was out of there.:runhills:

Sort of, but its not quite as black and white as that. Most of the martial arts that I know of were developed as a way of defending against a greater force. Karate was developed by the oppressed peasants of Okinawa as a means of waging war against their oppressors (the heavily armed and highly skilled Samurai soldiers). Of course Karate that is taught to us western sorts is not the same karate that taught island farmers how to leap 6ft in the air and knock some blokes heavily armour head off in one blow.

I remember dealing with the school bully when I was 9 year old by taking advantage of a known weakness. Having silently observed the school bully winning fights with all he challenged, I noticed that he not only was a skilled fighter, but kept himself well guarded. Except his goolies, which I noticed he never seemed to guard. So when he turned his attention to me one day (I must admit I probably goaded him, right outside the head master's office just in case it didn't go my way and I needed someone to hear my screams), I hoofed him one as hard as I could right in the nether region. When at first nothing happened, I thought I was doomed. Then suddenly all the colour drained from his face, and he just slumped forward, silently, and scrunched up into a little ball on the floor. I didn't have get done. My parents got phoned and everything.

Well done Dave:dbgrtmb: Its the only way to deal with someone like that. Short, sharp, pre emptive & decicive victory strike.

One of the school bullies decided he was going to have a cigarette off me one morning just outside school. He thought i'd be an easy touch as i'm not a fighter.

I knew if I let him have one today, it would become every day so I simply said no.

He headbutted me & knocked my front tooth out. This was a long time ago but I still remember the silence that followed.

I felt the hole, saw the blood on my hands and just slowly looked up at him.....

He must have seen what was coming as he just started to run for his life, he was in school when I caught up with him & it took 2 teachers to drag me off of him.

He never asked for another smoke, stopped calling me Rusty, in fact I didn't have another peep out of him for the rest of school.

After he left school he got put in prison for raping a seven year old. Just wish he hadn't ran into school on that morning, don't think any of his mates would have dragged me off him.

At this point, I feel I must point out an important point:)

I'm not a fighter. I fought occasionally at school just as a means of staying in one piece, and I've had the odd skirmish since, and on each occasion it was to use restraining force to prevent someone else getting hurt.

I hate violence. It is very rarely justified and even on those rare occasional when it can be justified, doesn't make it any less horrible.

Go in peace, and if you must kick the neighbour in the nads, make sure you don't miss or you'll just annoy him:heehee:
