So pleased, this morning, to find some frogspawn in the wildlife pond frogs have always preferred to use. Not a huge amount but fabulous the three chaps found some females after calling for 2 weeks. Could see a couple of newts in there too so they must be using this as well as their normal pond at top of garden.

And seeing a comma yesterday was fabulous too.

Wow, a lovely sight to see. So nice to see nature being supported and clearly thriving, we all need to do our bit.

We certainly do @Sienna's Blossom. So lovely that you care for wildlife as I do and yes, if all of us do our bit, we could make such a difference. Has made my day see the frogspawn this morning and seeing your lovely message too. Great to see so many on this forum who care and are doing their bit too. So glad I joined.

The frogs appear to be aborting the spawn this year, I keep finding it on the ground.

That’s very strange @pete, never seen it before. Are you moving it into your pond?

I've tried with some of it but its kind of stuck to everything, I'm thinking its probably not fertilised as I think that happens in the water.

I've still got some in the garden pond but I have to move that otherwise the fish eat all the tadpoles.

Fabulous you have some though which is fertilised. First year here we dug out 4 ponds. Fish in one and frogs kept using it to spawn. Thankfully they worked it out and moved to one of the wildlife ponds after this. Grass snakes very keen on getting fish, glad they leave newts and frogs alone or appear to.

My sister's pond has grass snakes, the frogs don't last long in summer there.
        They don't have any fish.

The frogs are in, adding to the spawn. Got photo of 2 newts too (not very clear as very sunny earlier)
Shall celebrate with a glass of something and Gardeners World.

Excellent @Sienna's Blossom, hope we get some wildlife / pollinator stories this week. For me, there has to be absolute silence. Even a sneeze is not permitted and the cats have to remain quiet too! Loved the grass last week which was turned into a wildflower area. Might have to watch that bit again.

Haha, I also love to see Monty's golden retrievers, his new puppy has grown so fast. My fav part of the show is the viewers own videos of their gardens, I love seeing what everyone has done with their gardens, I find it very inspiring. I definitely miss the show over winter. I absolutely love this time of year, so much to look forward to and hopefully many happy hours to spend outside

Oh snap, I'm just the same. Love seeing Ned and Nelly and the little Pattie tucked in the jacket at the end. Sad when Nigel died, but had a good life. My favourite bit too to see other viewers gardens and I'm just the same when the series finishes. Have to watch some old ones on Iplayer. Now is such a fabulous time in the garden, love it too. We got over the winter and have loads to sow and plant and get some sunshine too. Fabulous to see the ponds springing into life as well, yours will as well so even more to look forward to.
