    Thank you Penny. :)

    Thanks Grannie Annie.

The ground is so saturated that the roads seem to have permanent pools of water now. Banks along the edges of roads are having minor slides too. Luckily most of the water drains quickly so any flooding, providing the rain stops at times disappears. I live on the coast, so it's not really a problem for me. :)

The above pictures and these were taken on St Michael's Isle.

The lack of windows and the dimensions of the existing ones suggest it doubled as a defensive building Sheal.

If you're talking about the fort Zigs, I think it was there in the write up. It was used by Henry VIII for defence. :)

Oh right, there was a write up there on the church but I didn't hang around long enough to read it all. :doh:It was blowing a real hooley and I wanted to get back to the car. :) I'll have a look on a local web site tomorrow and see what I can find out.

That was the other reason for having small windows:snork: Doubtfull that they would have had glass in the 12th century unless they were proper rich.

You might think differently if you saw it Joolz. The island is only about 150 yards across, flat and un-inhabitable really. You couldn't grow anything there except seaweed and grass. :heehee:
