But you kept saying we should read the article and it tells you there! :noidea: I'm sure that would be disseminated throughout social media soon. So most people will have seen it shortly - apart from me as I'm not into social media. Apart, of course, GC. :)

Not quite sure what the software won't allow you to do, but I am happy to assist if I can.

Enjoy your wine, even if it is cheap.

I uninstalled Copilot as I have no use for it.

Although to use this W11 computer I got back in January this year I had to take out a new Outlook address I have not used it since. I did use it to just send emails to a couple of my other email addresses & vice versa but since then I've not touched it! I hadn't even heard about what MS is up to! Till I saw this thread today!

Is it downloaded & installed automatically? How would I even know? I don't use the admin account on this computer hardly at all.

If you use Outlook for your email, regardless of whether it is an outlook email address or any other, it will sync the email data back to their servers by default. Windows, by default, sets up One Drive which also syncs data back to their servers - Google does the same with your smartphone (and I'd bet Apple does the same)... it is something we kinda have to accept if we want to use these things I'm afraid.

I don't worry about MS seeing my emails, it's mostly trivia and/or boring.

My computer keeps coming up with a message that says I haven't logged in to the Cloud (words to that effect) and I just click the X in the top right hand corner. :noidea:

I find OneDrive very useful. Most of my non sensitive documents are on there. I can then access them on my phone, eg plant list wants or seeds needed if visiting a garden centre. Got my book list on there too and todo list. It's an easy way to share documents between my PC and phone. I sometimes share folders with others, when planning an event for example.

I am told Google drive and sheets are better for collaboration but OneDrive is what I'm used to.

Being on the cloud it is all safely backed up so if my PC or hard drive fails I will still have the latest changes to all my important stuff.

It's free up to a certain amount of storage, it's enough for me. For a while I paid for 100Gb I think it was around £1.50/month when I need to share lots of photos and stuff with family.

One Drive isn't as bad as it used to be to be fair to it - if you've got key folders set up for it, it does make moving from one PC to a new PC much easier
