    If castration definately stops them doing the horrible things they do, then i'm all for it. John, i know it must be so if you've said it but they won't continue to do other things (sorry) instead will they?

    I'm all for branding them too. But if castration stops their 'feelings' then can't see why it isn't passed as law immediately.

    cheers

    Woah Borrowers. It isn't (as usual) as simple as that. Once castrated there is a period up to two years when the urge still exists. Might even be longer. So I think for that period they should be kept locked up. But it isn't passed as law immediately because of a thing called 'human rights'. Not getting involved in that. It's complicated politics and I always get screamed at and get called a stupid intellectual by the loony right when I try to express a view on anything other than hanging people. There are places where, on GC, I don't go anymore.

    Thanks for info Sarraceniac. I agree about the locking up then before they can be released they have to have been 'done' at least 2 years or whatever before.

    Why don't you 'go there' anymore John? I love a good debate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and with a good debate, opinions can be changed.

    cheers

    Actually I get called a loony intellectual over hanging too. I don't go there anymore. I just bow to greater intellects, some of them are good gardeners as well.

    I agree with chemical castration, to my mind they forfit thier human rights when they violate those of a child.

    BTW, I think its more of an illness and therfore locking up as presently done only solves the problem temporarilly.

    See here we go [IMG] Even though i don't really understand what chemical castration means so can't offer any comments this is what i love about this site.

    All different opinions, makes it interesting.

    I thought castration just meant 'chopping off'.

    Kandy, no doubts in your mind. Agree with you actually. We would end up paying for them cos they couldn't work but then in most cases i suspect they don't work or couldn't after being charged with that.

    cheers

    John,I know that in this country chopping things off is not allowed,but when I was about nine years of age myself and my younger brother was 'Flashed' at by a sicko and also later on he tried luring young kids into the mens toilets of the local park where we all played and where the Flashing incident happened.Myself and my friends told the parks attendents and the Police were called and he was captured before he had a chance to do anything really serious.He was in fact a park attendant as I think they were known in those days{60's}

    Even to this day,I hate any one like that.My hubby's brother in law Flashed at some young school girls and an old lady walking her dog and was caught,fined,bound over to keep the peace and also had to go and have treatment with a Phychiatrist{spelling} over the problem and since then has spent all his married life trying to do good deeds to make ammends,but I can't even talk to him as he sickens me.My late mother in law absolutely hated him and would talk to him only through her daughter.

    If that sort of thing happens when you are older,then you can perhaps laugh it off but not when you are a young child and a shy one at that :(
