Painting terracotta pots a pale ochre

You can get different grades of pva at most builders merchants.

 

I use artist's Acrylic paint on all outside surfaces. Comes in a tube, cheap in Chinese/Pound shops. I've used it on walls, plastic drums for water catchment. I have also dyed jeans and shoes with it. It copes with my heat and sun.

 

Here is the black water barrel I painted in c 2000 (faded somewhat) ...
