I've been confined to our Joinery shop applying a several coats of sealer to these beauties and tomorrow I'll do the same to their big brother who stands 4.7 Metres Hope they measured the doors to get 'em out.
Nice to get back to the installation of new leaded lights and refurbished metal casements The casements came from the dismantled Railway Station in Bourton on the Water. And a couple of replacement panes in this 16c part of the house too.
I've got a couple of probably 17th Century opening lights if they're of any use to you Nick, need new frames making up. Do you want a pic of them, see if you can flog them on to a client? You're far more likely to find a use for them than I am.
Ok, they are unfortunately not a pair, but nothing that a smith couldn't sort out. I'll take a pic at the weekend
Inside view of a Black Smith made'Flat Iron' opener. Hinge pins hammered into the timber/stone surround (always save the hinge pins) or hinges hammer welded to another metal frame ,which would have been a 'Double Flat Iron'.Leaded light,4x2 pane,12mm lead cames. Wire brush and Hammerite...sell to reclamation for at least£50. With leaded light £150/175 Nice one zig.
I've been working in a derelict farm house just off J12 M5 doing some decorations, and this afternoon as I was pulling out some nails from the board over a fireplace it fell out and this was behind it! I think I'd better inform the owners:pathead:
Today in Chipping Campden....my two mates on a roof where we were all working. Zoom was on in that pic:lolpoint: But not this one
It was cold zig...I'd popped down for a quick cuppa Penny it is a home...one with a leaky roof:D Next door is a Wine Merchant, but too expensive for me!
