        You have some really decent sized plants there John:dbgrtmb:

        As to the Chamy, I'm not sure, I did try removing side shoot some years ago, but couldn't find any roots with it, so it just died on me.

        I tend to think they need to be pretty big if you want to use them for propagation.

          I forgot about the this poor Trachy I rescued in 2015, it has never really recovered from being uprooted - it isn't dead, new spears appear but they don't properly form:

              I remember that John, not sure how you can get it going.
              One thing I do notice is Trachys seem to make a massive amount of root in very wet weather, I see it often, above ground even.
              Just a thought, but maybe a few months of soaking the stem might induce stronger rooting.

              This is at the base of a couple of mine, lots of roots forming a kind of buttress at the base, the roots really start to move when it is very wet, mostly autumn.
