Hi @shiney that must have been after you watched Constable paint the Hay Wain:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

The flowers have great depth of field, very sharp - I like that one.

                True :dbgrtmb:

There was only a measly 67 years between them - I remember it like yesterday :loll:

I was lucky enough, in the meantime, to be there when Manet painted Olympia ;)

All very sharp except the over exposed Heron, does the fz1000 have programmed as well as auto mode too?

Good evening @strongylodon my friend yes I left it as it over exposed as I don't want to tamper with any of the Images,

                      Specifications

1.20-megapixel, 1.0-inch type CMOS image sensors

                      2. 12 frames-per-second burst capture rate and 4K video support + versatile tilt/swivel LCD monitor, higher-resolution electronic viewfinder, and a wider shutter speed range.

3.And it shoots up to 12fps at full resolution, or at 50fps at a five-megapixel image size

                      4. It has a gorgeous screen -- and its electronic viewfinder is even more of a treat. I'd say that it's the best-looking EVF I've seen to date, except that I've also seen the EVF in the Panasonic GH4, and the same OLED screen and optics are used in both.

5.The OLED screen in the FZ1000 has 2,359K dots, . It's immediately and pretty amazing

6.There are five separate Fn buttons, plus separate, dedicated buttons for AF/AE lock, focus mode, display options, ISO, white balance, Macro AF, and Focus Area Mode. Four of the Fn buttons (1, 2, 3, and 5) can also have different function assignments in Playback vs Record mode.

7.Panasonic FZ1000 has quite a rich collection of scene modes, including a couple of my personal favourites namely Handheld Night Shot and Panorama (called Sweep Panorama by Sony). Handheld Night Shot captures a rapid sequence of shorter exposures, then micro-aligns them and combines them into a single image. This cuts blur from camera motion, but also gives much cleaner images than simply using a higher ISO would. Panorama mode lets you pan the camera in front of you, while holding down the shutter button. The camera will capture a large number of shots, then align and splice them together into a panorama.

8.Overall, there are no fewer than 25 different scene modes.

9.Image blur is also reduced by the Lumix DMC-FZ1000's Hybrid 5-axis Optical Image Stabilisation.

10.Panasonic has coupled the FZ1000's sensor with a new Venus Engine which the manufacturer claims will dramatically improve the resolution, gradation, colour reproduction and noise control compared to Panasonic's existing bridge cameras.

                      11. The FZ1000 has exposure modes to suit enthusiasts (program, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual) along with Intelligent Auto and scene modes to help less experienced photographers. There's also the Creative Control option which allows users to select one of 22 filter effects to use. These effects are applied to JPEG files, but they can be used when shooting raw files simultaneously so that there's a clean file available for processing.

                      12.
We first saw the company's Depth from Defocus technology in the Panasonic GH4, Panasonic's flagship compact system camera. It has been used again in the FZ1000 to achieve focus speeds that are said to be 275% faster than those achieved by the Panasonic FZ200. Panasonic claims a focus speed of 0.09 second at the widest point of the lens and 0.17 second at the telephoto end when the viewfinder is used to compose images.

13.There are a total of 49 AF points available for selection either by the photographer or automatically by the camera. In addition to 49-Area and 1-Area AF, there's also the Custom Multi AF mode, first seen in the GH4. This allows the user to select blocks, rows or columns of AF points for use.

                      14.
Panasonic has also added Pinpoint AF, in which the camera automatically magnifies the focus area to ensure the correct section is in focus, and Focus Peaking to show the areas of highest contrast (focus) around the focus position in manual focus (MF) and AF+MF modes.
In addition to Face Detection AF, Eye Detection AF mode is available to automatically set the focus directly on a human eye, and it can start focusing as soon as the viewfinder is used.

15.Like Panasonic's recent compact system cameras, the FZ1000 has Wi-Fi connectivity built-in and an NFC chip to allow a connection to be made quickly to an NFC enabled smartphone or tablet. As well as wireless image transfer, this means the camera can be controlled remotely via Panasonic's Image App.

16.Other features brought with the FZ1000 include zebra displays to indicate the brightest areas of a scene, timelapse shooting and stop-motion recording.

17.The EVF and rear screen are both capable of showing an electronic level so you can be sure that the horizon is at the correct angle. This is easy to see in the viewfinder

                      18.Focus
Normal / AF Macro / Macro Zoom, Quick AF On / Off (on in Intelligent Auto), Low Light AF, AF/AE Lock Button, AF Area Select, AF Tracking, Eye Sensor AF, Focus Peaking, One Shot AF (Set the Fn button in custom menu to AF-ON)

                      19.Creative Control Modes
Expressive, Retro, Old Days, High Key, Low Key, Sepia, Monochrome, Dynamic Monochrome, Rough Monochrome, Silky Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Cross Process
Toy Effect, Toy Pop, Bleach Bypass, Miniature Effect, Soft Focus, Fantasy, Star Filter, One Point Color, Sunshine (22 filters)

20.Still Image Scene Mode / Scene Guide Clear Portrait, Silky Skin, Backlit Softness, Clear in Backlight, Relaxing Tone, Sweet Child's Face, Distinct Scenery, Bright Blue Sky, Romantic Sunset Glow, Vivid Sunset Glow, Glistening Water, Clear Nightscape, Cool Night Sky, Warm Glowing Nightscape,

Very impressive specifications, it doesn't seem to have the two problems I have with the fz150, no actual Macro function and shutter lag.

Reading post #41 I wonder just how much more technology can be added to a camera and will they become so complicated we'll be crying out for a Brownie! :)
