Thank you JWK I do use on line ordering for much of the bulky heavy stuff but do quite like to pick my own veg and fruit. Having read the responses I think I perhaps am just a bit too "old school". I do respect disabled parking places as I (thank god) am not in that category yet! While my knee is causing me hell I think I will use the spaces for mums . After all I don't remember theses spaces when I was up to my eyeballs with small children prams etc and managed to not loose any of them! Was a great believer in reins and also getting my children to understand at a very early age that no meant no and stop meant stop NOW not when they felt like it!!!!!

The Tesco we use has a sign asking that people with kids over 7 do not use them, but people still do. We have a 3 and a half year old and a 9 month old and it is difficult getting youngest out of car in a normal space and also the extra space does help with eldest.

I think its about time all carpark spaces were made bigger, I dont think the size of a standard space has changed since we were all driving Ford Anglias.
Its impossible to get out of the doors once you shoehorn yourself into a space, and then you get dented because someone else has the same problem.

We get the 4x4 brigade and the giant pick truck types,..... who tend to be a certain kind of person, ahem,... that often straddle two spaces, but nobody dares have a go at them about it.

Just to clarify, I do stay clear of these parking spaces. I just resent private parking companies conning people out of money by implying drivers are breaking the law, when they aren't.

They wouldn't be trapped in them, they would be trapped out of them, especially on the passenger side of yours.
There are different sizes of 4x4, its mosty the Range rover and Toyota Land Cruser bunch.

You know what i dont get is..half the lengh dirctly outside our tescos i think is for short stay and pick up,so why do peeps just nipping in get the nearest spots :heehee: they are spending less!
And the taxis drive down the road isle where the parents with kids area is to get to the pick up points which i strongly disagree with, its has to be a struggle with a few young kids, trying to erect a buggy and watch for excess passing traffic that dont even park there..not very well thought out me thinks:dunno:

Most twenty year olds, can not even read, let alone understand morals

That's why the parking is painted in big yellow pictures on the ground

Mind you it is the same with some forty year olds
We had the misfortune of flying with Ryanair, you have to walk the 200 yards across the tarmac to board

Disabled, aged and infirm first, then twenty seconds later "families with children"
Just because their children were both in their twenties and most probably played rugby for Scotland, did not mean they were breaking the rules just the spirit of it, As we were trampled underfoot, followed twenty seconds later, by everyone else teenagers, students and back packers

We eventually boarded and got the two remaining seats, I next to the leaking toilet and Julie in a middle seat up front where the surrounding passengers took delight in flicking "Pringles" at each other

We're lucky to find a parking spot at Tesco to shop, all the office workers park there free!
