Oh what a shame pete, Oxygen levels wrong or maybe the new building work has leached some unwanted chemicals into the water. Was that lake there before?

They look like common bream to me. Strange that's it not affected anything else.

The lake has been there for many years, probably at least a 200 or more.

I've never seen that amount of dead fish there in my lifetime, and can only put it down to the building work around the edges of the lake, I bet the anglers are a bit miffed, (trying to think of the right word).

Thanks for the fish ID Scrungee:blue thumb:

That's a shame, Pete. I wonder if the council might take note if some of your pictures found their way into the local newspaper?

I'll leave that to these guys, http://maidstonevictoryanglingsociety.webs.com/motepark.htm

I'm sure they might have something to say about it.

The pictures on their site are a bit out of date now, things dont actually look like that any more, its more poncy, I dont think they are welcome around much of the lake any more.

Anyone seen the new dog waste bins, (being polite here).
At first sight I thought they were, old pillar boxes, but then I couldn't think why they we putting them in the park, it says dog waste on the flap.:blue thumb:
The flap rips your fingers off when you try to use it.

Maybe why this one looks like this, I didn't investigate but perhaps the council needs to be told that they have to do a bit more than just install these pillar boxes.

Like maybe empty them from time to time.

Looks like they are making a complete mess of the whole park to me. Rather than councils putting unnecessary Tarmac paths through beautiful park land, why dont they spend the time and money on the road system? There are still some part around hear with pot holes in the roads from the winter of 2010!

This area was once the blue badge parking, its now a run of benches interspersed with very boring alder trees.

The trees actually get smaller as they go along, I assume the suppliers were struggling to find enough. Anyway I'm pretty sure after a few years they will be cut down.
The council hates mature trees as they can stand in the way of possible future development, plus they are planted far to close.

How they expect blue badge people to access this edge of the lake is a mystery to me as the blue badge parking has now been moved to the top of the hill, so its down five or so flights of steps, or a long run down a gritty slope.

Not sure how they are supposed to get back up though?
