I know I am very far down the list, but since with my landlady mess I am not planting anything for next year why don't you sent it to me? I am only adding seeds, not taking, so I can as well do it early on.

Ivory I am insisting you plant things even if it's only in pots then if you do have to move you can take them with you,(live for today tomorrow may never come.)

My dear Walnut this post brings me to announce publicly the plan that formed in the last weeks of severe mess/rage/depression/furious thinking/general confusion.

It is actually something that was in the air for several years but the plan never came together, perhaps because it was physically impossible due to lack of time and space for preparation. Time and space we lack not here, so it finally happened, and the landlady disaster just gave us the final nudge out of the door so to say.

We will be taking 2 or 3 years of break from civilized life to start a long hiking (like, by feet) tour of Europe beginning next summer, and I think the only plant I will be able to carry with me will be a pot of thyme (for cooking.... can't imagine cooking without fresh thyme).

I have arranged for a very very kind person on these boards to take in an ark of cuttings from my favourite plants so that my collection can be sort of kept together.... and when I have my next garden I can get cuttings back.... and start from scratch again.... I wish I could do that with my furniture as well, lol.
So if anyone else feels like getting cuttings from my things next spring early summer... it would be a favour also to me :)

Some of my favourite plants I will leave with my Family or friends (including the Brugmnsia I grew from Walnut's seed this summer... I want to see the flowers!!!!). The rest, after taking cuttings, must go "free to good home".

It is totally heartwrenching, since some of these fellows moved with me through three or four different gardens.

    But it's now or never.
The second blog in my signature is about our hiking project, it will be the easiest way to update all my friends on the proceedings, so feel free to peep in.

What I will plant this autumn is plenty of spring bulbs and the biennials that I have sown this summer. ALl those things that will bloom before next july.

    Ivory,

I will most certainly be dropping in to keep up to speed with your journey-real and metaphorical.

If you own something that you can`t put down at need it becomes a burden, not an asset. Fitting that you should mention The Return of the King, whilst I was remembering Lothlorien and The Mirror.

It will all be exactly how it was always going to be, as it has been til now.

And your friends will be with you.

    Hi fellow gardeners
Can I join the list please?
Sounds like a brilliant idea because we will probably all have different seeds to pass on.
