Don't forget that the pyrex glass front also makes a superb food mixing bowl.

Excellent Eddie. My old washing machine was a bit of a pain to take apart, but fortunately I haven't yet got round to give my dad his crowbar and sledgehammer that I borrowed months ago to repair the fence. Between those two tools, not much resistance was offered.

The plastic outer casing around the drum was more of a pain. There were about a gazillion bolts holding it together, all allen key type ones. I undid the first couple with an allen key, then decided that was taking too long, so I hacksawed the key so I just had the straight bit, and put that in my screwdriver/drill, which obviously did the job much faster than if I'd done it by hand.

On a similar subject, something is bugging me.

Off the shelf waste incinerators that look like a dustbin with holes in, are made from galvanized steel. Given that galvanised steel lets off toxic fumes when burnt/heated, how do they get away with making and selling them?

Because there is very little zinc in them I should guess, but the worst problem (round here anyway) is lighting them. We are in a smokeless zone, and have been for years.

Not all, since most have an angled top top direct the clothes back in.

I had an incinerator bin once. It was a nightmare to light, looked ugly, and was smelly due to never being able to get good enough air flow for an even burn. That's when new. As they age (which happens quickly) they just get worse. Oh, and one day you go to move it once its cooled down, and the bottom falls out leaving ash to sweep up off your patio.
