    He had that kind of enthusiasm that was contagious and infused others. I suppose he was an eccentric in a way, the sort of English man that other countries like to think of as typically English, but he was a very modest and clever man with a tongue in cheek type of humour when he wanted. He will be missed.....but he will be remembered.

      He was a great British eccentric . I probably started watching The Sky at Night in the mid sixties . I think it was a monthly programme . Patrick Moore has always appeared to be 100 years older than me since this date !
