goodness sake woo. bloming things aren't they? you are lucky in that you have someone in the family to do things with your pc etc. Hope you're back on here & all your pc things are back too.
Between your family input & kalmia's you can probably sort it.

Do you have the windows install CD? or did you buy the PC with windows already on it? but putting that aside that screen in later operating system's is blue and known comically as the "blue screen of death" and you can probably understand why...the only way to fix that is using the repair command via the operating systems install CD, do you know what operating system you have? (windows 98,98se,xp) looking at that screen it would appear you have windows 98 or actually maybe me or 2000 lol

Bearing in mind Windows 98 is very outdated and is being phazed out with modern technology,If it were me i would bite the bullet and get a p.c with xp or vista.

:thumb: Was going to say Woo, don't worry about the card reader, but you have done it the way I was going to suggest.. I only ever use the USB cable option these day..;)

;) Woo if you haven't got any virus or spy ware on your lap top down load AVG from the kim Komando site onto it & then go back & get Spybot from there too.. Those two will give you a reasonable standard of security for now.... It's all free...!;):)

:thumb: Well wish you best of luck with your recovery disc... :thumb:

Vista= no its generally not very good and is less supported than windows 98 when it comes to hardware.

I would go with XP if you had to update but it depends what the computer is used for! if you only type the occasional letter or email and surf the web then there is no need to update:thumb:

WOO - I've just come across you tale of woe. I'm really sorry you're having all this hassle.
From what I can glean from the screen shots you posted you've got a pretty near new PC - The BIOS is 2007 with a 3.6GHz processor. At the very worst all you'll have to do is get a new HDD and possibly an XP unstallation disc if you've not got one with the PC. I'm guessing at XP by the date of your BIOS. There is also a good chance of you or a PC 'doctor' recovering your personal files so don't despair.
    Bestof luck mate!:thumb:
