    Have you recovered the files? If not, download the ISO file for Ubuntu v8.04 (Linux) burn it to a CD, then boot from the CD and you will be able to retrieve the files from your hard disk. Booting from the CD does not install the system.

    I have not been on here for quite some time because of one problem or another with internet connection. My IP sent me the wireless equipment and after several failed attempts to install ( the pc could not locate the router?) it was manually installed last night by the IP. Its working fine now, touch wood.
    Not out the woods yet as my daughter needs to connect her laptop too, but fingers crossed!
    ..... what a good idea this section is
