I think when mines out fully, I'll try your spraying with water method Dave, must admit I do feel a bit of a prat, on a nice sunny day, going round the tree with a paint brush, its not so bad for frogesque in a greenhouse. :D

Pete Don't worry if the neighbours think you're a bit odd.
A few years ago our neighbour looked out of her bedroom window at 2.00am and saw me out on the drive with the hose. She commented to her hubby - "I thought Dave was a bit eccentric, but he's out there washing his car".

What she didn't notice was that our other neigbour's house was burning down and I was trying play the hose on it while waiting for the fire brigade to arrive. (They were away on holiday and the house was totally destroyed)
One consequence of the fire were several holes in the polycarb roof of my GH from where red-hot roof tiles had exploded and flown 20 feet.

    Luckily we've a house/cat/garden/GH/Polytunnel,
    resident sitter!

(Place that burned down belonged to the village burglar. There was some talk of an "insurance job" but nothing proved.) ;)

I should make it clear, the greenhouse isn't mine but is one of my regular jobs. The house is in two sections, the largest being 8ft wide 7' 6" high and 15' 6" long; the other bit, kind of used as a potting shed is about 6ft long.

It all has to come down later in the year as it's an old traditional wooden edifice, neglected and very rotten. It's also glazed with brittle agricultuaral glass and has some rather thick layers of peeling lead paint. The vine was severely cut back in January which caused a lot of trauma (to me :D ) but so far no bleeding has occured. The peach is only about 5' high but does need to be kept in check as it's really vigourous.

It's proposed a new house will be errected in its place, this time as a lean to against a garage wall and I'm hoping the vine and peach can be saved. They won't need be moved but will need retraining. The wall faces southwest so possibly a chance for a couple small citrus and other exotica as well.
