For sowing seed I use one part J.I seed, one part own sifted own compost & one part Coir with no feed. It works for me.

I've only used Westland Multi Purpose Compost for the last 2yrs
But now I'm having my doubts as I have mushrooms growing around my tomato pots as well as in my cloche.

The compost does have wood in it, so I am assuming the mushrooms are feeding from this which will helping in the breakdown to make good compost?

I'm I right... and should I just take them out and carry on growing.

I get those too, have done ever since the peat free stuff came along. They are not good in seed compost as they crowd the seedlings out. Otherwise I would just pick them out of pots of tomatoes etc without worrying.

The mushrooms will do no harm and possibly help the growth of your plants.
