Pension help needed please

    Be wary of investing in property - in the past I've purchased houses to rent out. When they are sold, you have to pay capital gains tax - which can take a big chunk out of any profit you make.

    The aim is to 'retire' from work as soon as possible - there's little point saving up to be a wealthy old man (or woman) :old:, by which time you may not have the health or inclination to spend your wealth.

    I've said it before - you can't buy more time.:blue thumb:

    I'd say concentrate on building up a regular monthly income from a pension (or some other source) - and get out as soon as you can.

      Unless you don't actually want to retire, just want a career change to a BTL landlord.


      It does help to have some cash stashed away to supplement a pension, with interest rates as they are ATM it helps to invest in essentials when cheap.
