    Re: tap root, loose terminology on my part, I mean it roots like a b4stard, I have no idea if it is a tap root or not, just that it will be a mother to get out. :D

    I take it you quite like peonies, Nathan? Must admit to having a soft spot for them myself, and like to cmbine them with Dicentras, only trouble is it's a bit bare when they've died down.......


    Think that unhappy looking one is on its way out, unfortunately..... Maybe it needs to come out of its pot? I've only ever grown them directly in the ground.

    I wondered whether the cold may have got to it .... And it does have some new shoots showing, but are a little small to see in the pic ....... How can you tell I like them :D

    Looking good mate, blood fish and bone, not beer, fish and bone ! first ones got a touch of brewers droop. Most likely the cold got to that greenhouse induced growth. Should be ok lower down. I have had parts on mine die off but there is usually enough juice left in it to regenerate from another bud.

    Cool, are you going to plant him in the ground this year mate? You need to come over and steal some of my big stuff. I have some miscanthus I can pot up for you, the whopper one that you saw the cane bundle of.
