I can't find any local stores that sell the Forte brand, @longk is this the correct product I should be looking for?

Halfords sell this instead, I think Wynns is a good brand, I wonder if this would do the same job?

    :)

yes very distracting as well, I spent the whole journey staring at the mpg readout whilst scanning for any engine warning lights and listening for any odd sounds. I don't remember stopping at any junctions or roundabouts either :)

          Perfectly good.
I swear by Forté simply because the cleaner product works so damned well.

No motor factors seemed able to help me, so I rang up Forte themselves to find out who they supply around here. A little local MoT centre will sell it to me :)

Well it seems I'm not the only one:

            From Fox News Mar 2013:
If only he had the advice from GC like I've got, then he wouldn't have needed such embarrassing publicity:

@longk - I am interested to read that the 2-strok affects cars even without the DPF; I must admit I was under the impression that the cat was the reason for going for the low ash variety, and that the more complete burn (and resultant less particulate from the exhaust) was also beneficial to the EGR.

@JWK - ECU = Electronic Control Unit (essentially the 'brain' of the car); EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation (basically a valve that shoves some of the exhaust output back through the engine to get rid of nitrogen oxide)

Cats and lambda sensors react badly to oil contamination. And they're fragile and prone to blocking on these engines.
Any oil vapours are the antichrist to the EGR system.
Our Citreon Xsara dropper (basically the same fuel system) runs happily on the recovered diesel/petrol mix for 90% of its life.
Basically I'm cautious, preferring not to compromise systems that are thus far untouched by this momentary lapse.

                  An update:

I've covered 300 miles so far and the car feels exactly the same, I put in the additive longk recommended and if anything it's running a bit better.

Thanks for all the advice folks, I won't do it again

Probably cleaned out all the laquer that builds up in the injector nozzles.
