Hi LoL,I am a bit confused which is nothing new for me I know;) I think Slinky should have written it as £1.16.9 a litre and not as £116.99{too many 9's} I wrote mine to show it as pounds and not uros because we are in England even though the garages only show it as 1.16.9 on the boards or in our case 1.23 a litre. It all gets most confusing but then this is this country all over:thumb::D:rolleyes:

Kandy, I am not sure where slinky comes into this ... and Slinky is probably more confused than anyone .....

golfer put a £ sign before his price, ie, £116.99 per litre .... a bit of an overstatement which I was playing with ... which golfer realised .... :thumb:

Slinky .... you have not been involved in this conversation at all and I don't know why Kandy has brought you into it.

Golfer started this conversation by saying that petrol there (in the UK ... I am in Portugal) cost £116.99 (one hundred and sixteen pounds and ninety nine pence per litre) .... it was a typographical error that no one picked up on and continued the conversation agreeing with him so I thought I'd make a comment about such a price for petrol ...

..... does that makes sense to you ????????

Hi Slinky sorry my apologies I meant to write Golfer as I knew he/she wrote out the original post.Hope you can forgive my blonde/senior moment.:):o

Hi LoL,just been for a nice walk now that the rain has left off so have only just got back.:)

I had noticed that Golfer had written it down with the decimal point in the wrong place so that it looked well over a hundred pounds but I thought you were saying that he/she{sorry havn't looked at profile to see gender} should have written it in the sign and not in the £ sign as we are talking about litres.:D

I am starting to get confused myself now so will go back to surfing the net:thumb:

Yes Pete I did.I was rushing as usual because Mr Kandy wanted to fit a walk in before the rain started again because we have been stuck indoors all day and it has done our heads in :) well that isn't hard for me;)

Have I been reported for making a mistake?:o

    :) £1.16 a litre.........Oh man.........whats it coming to.
I looked at our container of milk this evening 2 and a quarter litres and thought flipin hec if that small amount would have been petrol it would have cost over £2.60. and wouldn't taste to good ;)
I remember when I had my first car a mini in the 60's I got four gallons for £1.........HOW ABOUT THAT.......Seems almost unreal :)

I remember when everyone kept saying "It'all be a pound a gallon by Christmas".

I think that went on for about ten years before it actually was.:D

Number one ... notice I'm going greem ... my favourite colour next to black and purple .... but I'm a denim gal anyway ....

I'm pleased you've had a nice walk, Kandy, possibly cleared the head .... sorry, darling, you know I love you xx

... now that's a mind boggling thought, my dearest ..... You saying about a Mini in the 60s ... in the 60s we paid in America 25c per gallon (1/5 less than a British gallon) and when we went to England in December 1977 we bought a Mini van ... bit downsizing to say the least from the beefy cars I drove there up to 7000ccs ....

@ £1.18.9 a litre I probably shouldn't have been drawing black circles round roundabouts last wednesday achieveing a healthy 12.9MPG :thumb: I can't honestly say I have changed anything as a result of petrol prices but I am concerned about the knock on increases in goods and services. A bit of tax relief wouldn't go unrewarded at the ballot box Mr Brown ;)
