Love the new avatar Gogs [IMG] Daisy was a rescue dog and gunshy but hubby trained her up and took away her fear and she is now a very good gundog [IMG] Shes still scared of thunder and fireworks though :(

Jake our other springer went on a few shoots with my hubby but he was too hard mouthed.Charlie is not really trained to the gun i get told i have spoiled him, rubbish he's my gardening buddy where i go so does he.
Don't you think Marge & MF that Springers are forever young!

[IMG] Yep agree entirely Gogs.. I think the day your Springer stops "springing" so to speak is the day you have to worry about them...!!! Springer by name.. Springer by nature...!!! Always so happy with their tails wagging constantly...!!!! [IMG] Charley's mouth is too hard but he still goes through the motions of his training... Working the hedgerows etc.. Always sits as soon as he hears a gun shot, even now... He doesn't come shooting with us though..!!! Far too exciteable now... Yes I have probably spoilt him a bit but he is 9ish now & still remembers what he was taught...!!!!

When we had a litter a few years ago we kept one of them - Sam - he became my boy and only went beating and wasnt allowed to pick up cos he was hopeless and the birds came back oven-ready except for the meat  :D
He was, and still is, my special boy even though he went to the Bridge 6 years ago. He was my shadow and my confident always [IMG]

    Here's the boy himself [IMG]

Marge.I have just sat and cried at the Rainbow bridge. At least it has made me feel betterto think that is where my beloved pets have gone to and that one day we will meet again over the Rainbow bridge.

    Thankyou for making my day
