We had to pop down to our local DIY store the other day and on the way back along the country road we had to slow right down as there was a woman on a horse with another horse at her side being led and she had a line of cars stuck behind her as they couldn’t overtake her as we were coming slowly along the road so as not to frighten the horses and as we went past I looked at the woman and she was trying to control the horses with her reins whilst trying to converse with someone on her mobile phone which was wedged under her left ear so she had to tilt her head in such a way that she had to use it to hold the phone in place:yikes:

I can’t believe that anything is so important that she needed to be on her mobile whilst trying to manage two horses surrounded by cars on a public road.Perhaps it shouldn’t just be vehicle drivers that should be fined for using their mobile phones, and she isn’t the horse rider one I have seen either doing it but at least others have been on the bridal ways with only walkers and cycles to contend with:sad:

What amazes me, when driving slowly through Central Manchester, during the rush hour, the number of times young women wth long hair and holding a phone to their right ear, have stepped off the kerb almost under my wheels as they are so engrossed in their converations that they fail to realise they cannot see anything to their right.

Just bought a new one from Argos, my old one was taking hours to charge.

Anyway its come without a mains plug charger, thanks Argos, really helpful:mad:, it doesn't even have a standard usb cable, it has a weird cable with plugs that look the same to me at both ends, it appears to only fit one usb socket on my laptop, not the most convenient way of charging something, feeling a bit pi**ed of with it already.

You should be able to get a mains/USB adaptor for the cable? Think of the good you'll be doing the Chinese economy  Sounds like it might be the latest reincarnation of USB...you can't fight 'progress' :nonofinger:

In fairness, it is not Argos this time - this is now standard thanks to the EU... in the long run, it may prove to be a good thing in fairness, but currently it is a pain in the backside. Firstly, there was a push for manufacturers to NOT include chargers as it was deemed that most folks would have one from their old phone or could buy one if they needed another - this was to reduce waste and environmental impact etc. The unforeseen 'benefit' of this was that the el-cheapo, Chinese factories started knocking out copies (some downright dangerous) of the manufacturers genuine chargers and let's be honest who is going to pay £25 for a genuine one when you can get one for a fiver off eBay?

The USB plug was standardised to USB-C. This was predominantly to stop the likes of Apple ripping punters off by charging arms and legs for chargers and cables and also to promote the idea that people can switch and keep their current chargers (they won't - Apple fans are Apple fans and likewise Android fans are Android fans and rarely will folks migrate)

Check if your phone has fast charging, it might need a different adapter to take advantage of that. Otherwise you'll still be able to charge it, just slower

Your old phones battery has done well to last 5 years !

Have you checked if your old phones Sim card will it in the new phone which looks like it only takes Nano Sims ?

On first look at your old phones sim card it may appear too big, but if you look closely you may see that there is a partical cut out which allows you to push out a smaller nano sim.
If not your provider should be able to send you a new smaller sim, usually foc.

I've not even looked at the sim card yet, that will be my moment of no return, I dont like dabbling with them things, I've mostly set up the new phone by wi fi ATM.

I will look into the sim tomorrow, expecting some important messages tomorrow, so once they are sorted I might look into changing over the sim, I think it may be ok as on both phones the drawer on the side is about the same size, it even looks slightly smaller on the old phone.
