      @shiney, quick qu - can comp photos be cropped? I find if I don't crop an image I get an error message when I try to upload it on this site. Something to do with file size, I guess, but cropping solves this. Not that I have a brilliant image to post this month, but was just wondering for the future, in case the theme is ever "Mess" or "Weeds" or similar! :biggrin:

        I reduce all mine @ViewAhead - to around 1 MB or less. That works well. I reduce the pixel size as that's the easiest way. Hope that helps.

          Reducing the size, as @fairygirl says, usually solves the posting problem. :blue thumb: Altering photos for the comp. is not allowed apart from those mentioned in rule six on the first page of the comp. :)

          We have that rule as not all members have the capability to alter photos and we like to have as level a playing field as possible.

          That applies to all the entries but not to the example I post in the opening thread as it is not an entry in the competition. Having said that, I almost never bother to adjust my examples but just try to grab ones from my own stock. A lot of those can be years old :whistle:

              You can still replace it for this month, as long as you took the photo this month, as the theme is your favourite - so no real theme :blue thumb:
