Thanks for starting the ball rolling again Mum! :dbgrtmb: It gets a bit boring looking at on going shots of Zigs and I, no offence meant Zigs. :)

Four or five years old there I think Mum. Can you remember where it was taken?

I can indeed remember where it was taken (and you've made an excellent guess at my age: top marks!).

It was taken at "Seasalter" on the South East coast; it was my father's favourite place to visit in the South (he was a Northerner and disliked ending up in the South :heehee:, but, Seasalter he thought was a lovely place). We would be sent winkle picking and when we got home, we were each "issued" with a safety pin while our mother boiled them up. Then we would all sit down to winkle out our foraged supper.

Not many I know of these days that would make a meal out of winkles :heehee:

Winkles! They take me back too. Being reared in the Southend-on-Sea area my parents often took us down to the cockle sheds at Leigh-on-Sea. We'd come home with all sorts, cockles, winkles, shrimps etc. and my dad had a liking for whelks. To me they were like chewing on rubber. :heehee:

When away on a caravan holiday we would comb the rocks around beaches for mussels, my mum would 'clean' and steam them for our tea and they went down well with bread and butter. Those were the days eh? :)

I was still in the Rif Raf at Midland Radar in Rutland. There were 8 WAAFs to one fella and we had a rare old time as it was a very close group of people and the song became our signature tune so to speak.................those were the days!!! Where have they gone!:cry3::snork: It was definitely a song of the times!!
