I want to sow some Brassica seed's ie cabbage.kale, broccoli and sprouts. Will it be ok to put the seed trays/pots onto shelving in my unheated greenhouse as all my heated propagator's are full.I did not think these seeds would need so much heat.

Yes definitely, heat is not needed for these at this time of the year.

Sowing in open ground is also possible now, for transplanting later.

Not sure but IMO a bit early for brussels sprouts, and possibly Kale (never grown that), Broccoli depends on what type.

I get better results for Cauli by using a propagator, all other brassicas do ok in the greenhouse in pots. I sow using 5 inch pots. Seed trays can dry out quicker this time of year if your out for the day and it is sunny. Last year I sowed direct into my polytunnel beds, and they did very well indeed. I had far too many plants so I supplied about six plots.

I sow ALL brassicas now, but I repeat sow Chard, Kale Cauli and sprouting later on, around June and then september.

Polytunnel beds 5th May last year.Ignoring the pots and trays and one row of lettuce, it's all brassicas here.
