Kecks is not a southern word, does it mean trousers or underpants?

Technically its your undies, but it is also widely accepted to mean your entire bottom half (troosers and undies) combined, depending on the context.

If you go to a GP with a complaint about a lower abdominal ailment, you might be asked to drop your kecks. If you're in a takeaway waiting for a kebab and your troosers are hanging down showing your crease, you might get asked to 'pull your kecks up man'.

Has anybody any ideas about breaking yourself off the soil if you become stuck, you know like when you stick your tongue on an ice cube straight out of the freezer. Just a bit worried for the safety of my girlfriend when we check out the soil later. :)

Hmmmmm - confused now. Why, when I tried this, did my neighbour start laughing and then run off only to come back with a telescope?

Aah, I should have added, wear a Goonwilly. The special pouch worn under the kilt during thistle season, according to Douglas Adams.
