Oops ... seems to be a lot more expensive than what I thought ... £5k is a lot, as you still need to add the computerised irrigation system etc

suppose its like solar pv installions ... costs approx £10k ... and takes a while to recoup the costs

but if your house is worth half a million+, £5k is not all that expensive

    :o

Completed it Dan. Not sure what a water butt is. We have a outside water faucet. We also have two and half acre property and 8 gardens, lost count. And I have no idea what the English pound is compared to American money. But I know we spend a ton of money over the last 20 years.

My water butt catches the water from the down pipe of the house
and is hidden away behind shrubbery, so I've drawn it in to show it's location.:)

Nope we don't have a water butt. We have a well, and of course an electric pump.

Not sure what the exchange rate is at the moment Redstar. But if you calculate eg. $1000 it will be about £700 here. Just a guide. :)

Wow. really studied those water storage rain catching systems. something else.

OK so if 700 lbs equal about $1000.00 in American money. So lets see 22 years: many shrubs, thousands of bulbs, special trees, hauled in soil, renting tillers, mulch, seeds, lots and lots of plants, many climbers,--- I'd say easy--$25,000 dollars++. Not counting paying someone to help when we can get them.

          Redstar,

Not being facetious here, but don't you have a £ sign on your keyboard. I noticed you put lbs which is a weight sign. :)

5k is a lot of money, 5p is currently a lot of money, but the figure that you quoted is cheaper than I had expected. I was talking to someone recently who had spent in excess of 20k having a bore hole done, only to have it stop some weeks later. :(

Are you trying to make me blush!:o
