The question is that i cannot find an answer for is..................If you are a or become a member you have to contribute at least 25% of your earnings to the church as well as beliefs.

And with that apparently they provide a property a larger than a 2 bed semi with a new car. [ basically they pay your mortgage].

Because of a large list of rules...............................THATS what i,m curious about.....

Has anybody seen or have the list?????

 I am Church of England because my parents chose this for me... but I am an Agnostic in as much as'I do not know the truth'. However,I do know people who are Jehovas' and I find them to be polite and engaging whenever they call to say hello, as they visit this Avenue often . They know full well they could never convert me to their way of thinking and our relationship is of friendship and mutual respect. On more than one occasion I have invited them in for a cuppa ,usually when it's raining:),and we end up chatting about everything except religion, more often than not...about my garden:D

The thing is if i was remotely intrested then I would look them up. Instead they go around pestering and disturbing people.

One of my freinds works night shifts and he is forever getting his sleep disturbed despite a prominent sign by the door saying no doorstep sellers or jw. Further Im sure we get Gypos dressing up in black suits wandering around caseing up propertys.

My feeling is that religion is a private thing, doesnt bother me what folk belive just as long as they dont ramn it down the throat. Personally im an aetheist.

:) We have a local Jehovah's guy who makes the rounds in our village & like you Pal, we know him & talk about everything under the sun, but religion.....:D

:thumb: You have hit the nail on the head Pal.. Mutual respect..!!!!:)

:( As far as Tithing goes, well...
Don't get me wrong I am not a deeply religious person & I am sorry,, but I do not agree with Tithing .. I just feel it is a way of whichever particular Church to grab you & keep a hold of you whether you still want or not... Get their claws in so to speak & you have no say how that church spends that money....!!! :( Very difficult to leave the church then as well.....
:( I have friends in the USA though who see no wrong in it at all. In fact they see it as a positive thing..! :(

:)So I would go along if you feel inclined, nothing wrong in having a look Slinky, but keep a very open mind & just politely decline any further invitations saying something you need time to think about it...Etc etc or however you want to put it.
    ...;);)
