Poole park, Baiter and Poole quay.

    Poole park lake this morning, this lake is part of the park and is only separated from Poole harbour by a railway line.

    Apart from the usual ducks and Geese there are 3 pairs ofthe over wintering Red Breasted Mergansers and Goldeneye, one drake Merganser came close to the path giving me the closest view I have had there. They will soon be flying up North to breed.

      Baiter park, essentially a large grassy area betwwen Poole park and the quay mainly used for dog walking but also used by many birds at high tide.

      Poole Quay. Cormorants are often along here but I have never seen a Shag this far in.

      One of the two or three Sandwich Terns over wintering in the harbour, a long way out on a marker. very few stay here in Winter as they normally migrate to West Africa, they must like it here despite the cold!!:smile:
