I did a few opera singing lessons when I was about twenty, but my EXCELLENT and expensive teacher Silvana Moyso thought that I was just stretching the neck too much and not singing from the diaphragm and in few words she refused to continue the lessons. I did also some acting lessons and my teacher said that my voice was flat ans perfect for an airport announcer! But I was acting quite allright and enjoying it immensely, that little that it lasted.
Awww, poor miraflores, they might have encouraged you bit more, some people are just late developers!!! Val
Hi Gemini, I am definitely a late developer...the fun is just starting. But I have been thinking about that opera singer dumping me etc...and I think that she was maybe hoping that her students would really want to work hard and perform one day, which was not my case because I was already over twenty and barely in the position to pay for the lessons... I have met a Polish girl in Switzerland though, that would follow her opera tutor everywhere (Switzerland, America, Italy etc...) -when she would travel for her pleasure- just not to miss a lesson. But in order to do that first of all you have to have a lot of capital to invest and second to be adamant that you want to pursue a singing career.
Its obviously personal choice but I think Joe has a tremendous voice . He is a lovely humble young man and I cannot understand why we do not hear more of him. The last record he made was a disaster because they tried to make him into some kind of modern hip hop singer. Why that song was chosen for him is beyond me, it just didn't suit him and didn't show that wonderful voice off at all. As far as singers having to write all their own material, does that mean song writers should have to perform all their work. I don't think so . Different strokes for different fokes :WINK1:
